AGBARA, OGUN STATE – September 09, 2026 — The Ogun State Police Command has officially declared Agbara Area Command one of the most peaceful and security-compliant police formations in Ogun State and across the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, made this declaration during an official familiarization tour and strategic media engagement at the Agbara Area Command Headquarters. Addressing traditional rulers, industrial leaders, sister security agencies, and civil society groups, CP Ojajuni commended the officers, community leaders, and commercial stakeholders for sustaining an environment conducive to economic growth along the vital Lagos-Ogun industrial corridor.
A Strategic Economic Fortress
Carved out of the former Ota Area Command in 2018 to bring public safety closer to the grass roots, the Agbara Area Command oversees a critical manufacturing and commercial hub. Host to the world-class Agbara Industrial Estate and the Ibeshe Free Trade Zone, the command secures a major economic driver for both Ogun State and the national economy.
Despite sharing complex inter-state borders with Lagos State at Morogbo and Raji, as well as adjoining boundaries with Sango/Ota and Atan divisions, the command has maintained zero-tolerance against violent crime, transit-corridor banditry, and industrial disruption.
Resourcefulness and Inter-Agency Synergy
Speaking during the visit, the Area Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Tanaruno Folashade Anthonia, attributed the command’s peaceful record to tactical resilience, intelligence-led operations, and robust community relations.
Operating across six divisions with a current workforce of 336 personnel, ACP Anthonia highlighted that despite operational constraints in logistics, vehicular capacity, and officer housing, the command has consistently deployed proactive visibility patrols and strategic intelligence gathering.
Central to this achievement is a seamless collaboration with sister security agencies, military formations, traditional rulers, Community Development Associations (CDA), the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), and local youth organizations. Joint operations, including targeted border initiatives like Operation Kosaye, have reinforced security along transit corridors connecting Lagos and Ogun states.
Call for Sustained Support and Integrity
Reaffirming the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to civil-oriented policing, CP Bode Ojajuni warned personnel against any form of professional misconduct, harassment, or extortion, stressing that public trust remains the bedrock of modern policing.
The Commissioner urged corporate bodies, industrialists, and community stakeholders to continue supporting the police through credible information-sharing and logistical partnerships.
"Security is a collective responsibility. The police need the community just as the community needs the police," CP Ojajuni stated. "When strategic leadership meets an active, supportive public, peace thrives naturally."

The royal celebration attracted an impressive gathering of dignitaries, community leaders, traditional rulers, security stakeholders and other prominent personalities from different walks of life. The occasion was marked by joy, goodwill and prayers for the newborn, the royal family and the community.
The presence of the Commissioner of Police at both the Area Command and the royal celebration further underscored the importance of strengthening relationships between security institutions, traditional authorities and the grassroots.
