ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE: A NEW NIGERIA WHERE THINGS WORK IS HERE SAYS HON. MINISTER OF WORKS, SEN. ENGR UMAHI AS HE UNCOVERED FACTORS, CHARACTERS BEHIND THE FAILED STATE OF ROADS IN NIGERIA AND VOWS TO END THE SUFFERINGS OF NIGERIANS USING THE HIGHWAYS.
With the coming on board of a very experienced, performing and innovative Minister of Works, Sen. Engr. David Nweze Umahi, Nigerians can be sure of a new Nigeria where good road infrastructure is guaranteed.
With the new order in road construction, Nigerians are hopeful that all the bad spots from East to West, North to South will be fixed.
Many expatriates , contractors and bureaucrats involved in Federal Road construction jobs across the Nation are now bracing up to the new order in road construction introduced by the Hon. Minister of Works.
However, those holding the country to ransom and draining the economy in the name of road construction are jumping from pillar to pole in an attempt to blackmail the game changer for insisting on best standard in road construction.
So far the support he is receiving from Mr President and Nigerians to change the ugly story of our roads is overwhelming.
Nigerians are tired of excuses and shawdy practices in road construction. Nothing short of international standard in road construction will be tolerated by the Hon. Minister of Works and infrastructural genius.
This is the first in history, a Minister of Works is painstakingly carrying out a physical assessment of all the awarded Federal Roads both uncompleted and yet to be started road projects worth trillions of tax payers' money, and proferring practical and permanent solution to the problems that face our roads
The Hon. Minister of Works walks the talk and has shown a great deal of proficiency in reinventing desirable attitude and altitude in engineering works. He insists that Nigerians must have value for money invested on our road projects.
He insists that all awarded roads must be executed promptly and in line with international best practices. In the months to come, Nigerians will experience a new dawn in road transportation.
Concrete Technology will dominate our road projects as done in advanced countries and other fast developing economies of the world. And our roads can last up to 50 years before reconstruction is made. This is the way to go
