Today, Nigerian Council of Registered insurance led by Barr. Rotimi Edu, President NCRIB celebrates the 60th Anniversary of the establishment with Mascot and a New Logo.
The features of the unveiled logo revealed and explained the mission of the commission for the next 6 decade.
The event which was held at the council office, yaba witnessed a huge number of living legend of insurance sector such as Pa Olabode Ogunlani (90yrs) the doyen of insurance with over 70 years experience in the insurance world was present and celebrated for his continuous mentorship for the sustainability of the industry in Nigeria.
The commissioner for insurance, Olorundare Sunday Thomas said 'the 21st President of the body fit into the hole of leadership at NCRIB because of his 21st century innovations which he has being demonstrating since he assumed office in 2019.'
The journey so far
The Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers was established by an Act of the National Assembly (NCRIB Act No. 21 of 2003) which was signed into law by the then President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR on 4th July, 2003 .

Inside Barr. Rotimi Edu portfolio
Mr. Oluwarotimi Edu was the Deputy president when he succeeded Mrs. Bola Onigbogi, immediate past President to become 21st President of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers, NCRIB in 2019. He began to work in alacrity and in harmony to deepen insurance awareness through improved education and sensitization exercises across the country.
He was appointed as the Auditor of the council under its first female President, Barr. Mrs. Laide Osijo.
Through hardworking and diligence rose gradually from being the council Treasurer, Vice President, Deputy President and now the 21st President.
Education
A chartered insurance practitioner from the Chartered Insurance Institute London, Edu is a product of the National Institute of Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos. He was a one-time speaker at NIPSS (SEC 41) and a strong advocate of agricultural insurance development in Nigeria.
Also, he is a Chartered member of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators (CIArB); current Chairman of the Insurance Brokers Forum of the West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA); member of the 9th Governing Council of Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH); past President of the Lagos State Polytechnic alumni association); member, Institute of Directors (MIoD); Principal Partner of Rotimi Edu & Co. a firm of estate managers, among others.
